This week Sally had a visit from her younger sister Rosie Rhine who lives in Washington state. It was a great pleasure to meet her and to hear all about her unique business. Rosie makes beautiful quilts and has a specialty of making bereavemnt quilts, memory and memorial quilts.

February 4th to be declared Rhine Research Center Day in Durham!
Proclamation
WHEREAS, Dr. Joseph B. Rhine established the Parapsychology Laboratory at Duke University in the year 1934; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Rhine’s book, Extrasensory Perception, popularized the term ESP, is now a part of the international lexicon; and
WHEREAS, the Rhine Research Center in Durham, an independent non-profit organization, continues the work of J. B. and Louisa Rhine, which has been ongoing for more than eighty years; and
WHEREAS, the inaugural J.B. and Louisa Rhine Distinguished Service Award will be presented in Durham on February 4, 2011 to Captain William F. Higgins, USN retired.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, William V. “Bill” Bell, Mayor of the City of Durham, North Carolina, do hereby proclaim February 4, 2011 as
“RHINE RESEARCH CENTER DAY” in Durham, and hereby urge all citizens to take special note of this observance.
